Laurel (& Delux)

after reading about dax's recent visit here, i made a short-notice decision to head down there with a friend and check it out. figured it's worth the experiment for the prices. i thought they did a fine job of serving up some really good food considering the cost of it all. just had hummus & foccacia crisps for an app. i had a sea bass with polenta and a black bean sauce (more of a black bean salad tho), she had a hanger steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. my fish was really fresh and cooked perfectly for me, and the steak was spot on too. that, bottle of wine, bourbon drink, glass of white, all came to around $60.

wanted to have a few more drinks so we headed to Delux. after several drinks, got hungry again and split the grilled cheese (with roasted red peppers and olives). good bread, can't recall what kind, but the sammich was a little heavy on the olives (and i like olives). i've never had dinner here, but i'd come back for it.
