I've written an article to be published in tomorrow's Newsday (August 13) about Latin-American eats from Riverhead to Montauk. I was very much inspired by discussions on this board so thanks to you all. (The person who contributed most asked not to be acknowledged in the article, but thank you so much, Blondie.)
Since I filed, I've had a supernal tamale (wrapped in a banana leaf, not corn husk) from Mundo Latino in Southampton. This place (North Sea Road just south of Montauk Highway) and Taqueria Mexico on 25 in Riverhead (across from Town Hall) are real finds. The latter is very new and could use your business. What sopes!
