Latin American Cafe - White Plains

Stopped in at lunchtime today. This is a Cuban restaurant at 134 East Post Rd. just a block off Mamaroneck Avenue. I had planned to get the lunch special, which I'd heard about from a friend, but, alas, no lunch specials on Sunday. Then I noitced they have Cuban pressed sandwiches (Cubano), so I opted for one of those. It was good. Decent bread, ham, pork, cheese, mustard and dill pickle slices, all hot and crispy from the press.

The lunch specials sound very good. Mon.-Sat. 11 a.m.-3:00. They have roast pork, chicken in garlic sauce, a bacalao (cod) dish and pigs feet, and more. All selections include sweet plantains or cassaba, brown rice or yellow, or white rice and beans. I gotta go back.
