I owe the board a huge apology for not posting this earlier. In fact its been so long I figured I would make a new post. Right around holliday time last year we (The Cheeseheads) asked the board for help on suggestions and I completely forgot to let you all know how it went... so here is a VERY late report and hopefully could be helpful to those visiting your city.
By the way your weatherman has the easiest job in the world..
Fishery- Great little spot. The service was very pleasant and expedient. Had a ceviche for the appetizer that was balanced and flavorful. We all had different fish entree's and all were well cooked. The quality of the fish seemed very nice.
World Famous Seafood- I don't think this place was recommended but was a nice walk on the beach from where we stayed and we decided to do dinner. The service was terrible. We waited almost 20 minutes after being seated for any contact. The dish I ordered had issues with some debris in the scallops which I sent back politely. Their response was all but calling myself a liar. I didn't bother to order a substitute and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Tourist trap amateur hour.
La Playa Taco Shop- This place was 2 blocks from were we stayed. Ended up eating here twice as the food was great. A small simple little "ma and pop" with a simple menu. Cost and service was just fine and the tacos themselves were delicious. The shrimp and fish were something else!
Sisal's Fine Meats- Thanks so much for the recommendation of this place. Ended up with 4 prime ribeyes that everyone really enjoyed. The service was FAST paced but friendly, obviously very crowded that time of year.
Unfortunately due to some illness we didn't get to go to all the spots we would of liked but had a great time. Thanks again to all the chowhound folks for the great advice!
