Leaving on a jet airplane... tomorrow am :)
We'll be in town from Thursday (arr. 2pmish) to Monday (leave 5pmish).
Was hoping to get some insight into our plans for sights and food!
We are staying in Murray Hill around 39th and Lexington.
I'll eat anything but Indian, my wife is a little more particular (doesn't like a lot of asian foods and is allergic to chicken [of all things!])
Prices are open, wouldn't mind a couple of expensive meals, but I hate to spend $60/pp and not like to eat anything served =)
Thursday (arrival day):
My wife's birthday
Already have tickets to Beauty and the Beast (8pm)
I kinda want to keep before a little flexible due to flying/delays/getting checked in/etc. Was thinking of getting something light/fast before the show (need a recommendation for this -- we'll probably be around the times square area, but can head over to 9th Ave...).
Dinner afterwards: Becco (she likes italian, lasanga especially). Would we need a reservation this late (11pm)? Anyplace else you'd recommend?
Plans to do touristy stuff (get up early, ellis island/Statue of Liberty/WTC/Flatiron)
Breakfast: bagels at Daniels in MH
Lunch: Katz's or Lombardi's
Dinner: Open Friday evening is tough I'd assume
Central park area (Guggenheim, Met, St Johns, etc)
Breakfast: not sure...
Lunch: Papaya King =)
Dinner: Open again... maybe Angels?
Walk across Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown
Dinner: something cheap! maybe Grand Sichuan?
Where can we keep our luggage for a couple hours? Does Grand Central have lockers?
Maybe do Moma and then head to the airport
Not sure on food.
Places that people have suggested, that interest me:
Top of the Tower
Frankie & Johnnies
Bill's Gay 90's
I went to high school in Venezuela, so any arepa places would be excellent as well (the reviews on menupages are mixed -- I'd prefer authentic, don't mind the locale!)
Thanks! and sorry so long!
