Restaurants & Bars 7

Late night OC places

Professor Salt | Apr 23, 2003 11:06 PM

I'm asking for your help in assembling a list of restaurants, coffeehouses, taco trucks, bars w/ food, etc that are open til midnight or later. The thread about Korean restaurants in Garden Grove got me thinking about the few places in OC I know about. Surely we can collectively build a decent list?

Not corporate places Denny's or Norm's, mind you. Local diners (for me, anyway) are a last resort option, unless I'm craving a turkey club on toasted rye w/ gravy fries. For that, I'll go to Harbor House (Dana Point & Sunset Beach), or Shorehouse (Seal Beach or Belmont Shore, not the other locations) which are 24/7.

I know the last two aren't strictly Orange County, so let's be generous and include anything East of the 605 corridor and South of the 60 Fwy. Wayne, let's include Chino in this conversation, too. : P

I'll start with these:
BCD Tofu House, Garden Grove. Korean soontofu: 24 hr / 6 days a week
Tsuruhashi, Fountain Valley. Japanese-Korean BBQ: til 1am
Oki Doki, Costa Mesa. Pan-Asian, Japanse owned and influenced: 1 am
Blue Beet, Newport Beach. Bar with tacos from a takeout window: 2 am on weekends
Taqueria de Anda, Santa Ana. Tacos & burritos: 24/7

There's also a cafe on Newport Blvd just north of 17th Street (next to Black Flys store) that's open way late, but I've never stopped by. Do you know if they do food?
