Why So Little Late Night Dining in Boston?

Lindsay B. | Apr 13, 2002 05:12 AM

There are about 80 colleges and universities in greater Boston. You'd think that there would be a huge market for late-night dining here. Why is it so hard to find a place that serves food after ten? Back home in Vancouver there are plenty of IHOP's, Denny's, and other 24-hr chain greasy spoons. Why aren't there any such places in Boston? In the Back Bay you can't even get a pizza delivered after midnight. (Can you, if so, where?!) Is it a blue-law zoning thing?
