late night dining

Don't know if you guys know about this. In the SG valley there are dozens of HK style seafood restaurants. Well, most of the these places are open quite late for dining. And after 9pm, there is a special menu that has dishes for very very cheap. Scallops, shrimp, fish, meat... $5.95 -$7. Also, ask your server to explain to you if they have any specials (they are usually posted on the walls); they have great deals, like if you buy a lobster, you get a crab for free. Or half a peking duck for $7. The seafood in the tanks are still regular price but since there is so much competition in the area, it's been driving prices way down. I usually go to MPV on Garfield (close to Valley Blvd). But in the neighborhood (we are talking a few blocks), there other ones like Phoenix or NYC. I go there at least once a week and order the half chicken, crab stir fried with scallions, spinach, and sometimes I order beef braised in turnips. A good way to see what you might want to eat is to walk around and look to see what looks delicious then I tell my waiter I want the same thing.
