Went with a bunch of friend to AOC late on Monday night. So late that they advised us to be quick about ordering. But then they rolled out the full treatment as if we were VIPs, which we're decidedly not.
We ordered the dates, of course, and duck confit, with some delicious fingerling potatoes. And the crostini, which in spite of being simple, are relatively hard to find on menus, and almost never done well. Here, they were pretty perfect, with little pieces of crispy pancetta on top.
We also had a delicious fish dish, but because of the excellent cava I was drinking, I've clear forgotten what it was. Sorry. And yummy clams in a fish broth that was worth the price of admission. I think that was it. All washed down with a couple of bottles of excellent cava. So excellent that I can't remember the name.
There were six of us. We left completely satisfied, and in spite of shutting the joint down, they never made us feel rushed.
I love Suzanne Goin. Oh, but seasoned Chowhounds already know that..ahem.
