Sorry to ask about what has probably been discussed to death. However, searching on "The Latest Scoop" and gelato gave me far more results than I wanted and results that didn't have anything to do with what I was looking for.

I had my first taste of The Latest Scoop pear merlot sorbet and tres leches gelato and they seemed wonderful to me.

Some of their flavors sound great ... Pomegranate, Brandied Plum, Ginger Pear, Sangria, Blueberry Pinot Noir, Blackberry Lime, Malt Ball, and Crème Fraiche, to name a few.

They also put together holiday ice cream menus so for St. Patrick's Day there is Guiness gelato and Bass Ale Sorbetto. The Chinese New Year menu was cool, so to speak, as well ... under the Newsletter link.

The also offer ice cream truffles and the White Parisienne truffle - Passion fruit sorbet surrounded by white chocolate ice cream dipped in white chocolate

Their address is listed as 1017 Ashby Avenue, Berkeley but the web site seems to imply they only sell to restaurants.

Is there a shop? Are there groceries that sell their ice cream?

The site says that the ice cream has been sold since 1979, so I am sure this place has been discussed a lot. Until I moved here, I sort of tuned out East Bay posts.
