I'll be in Las Vegas for three nights (Sunday-Tuesday) for a conference and I'd like to have at least one BIG dinner. I've been to Bouchon and e by Jose Andres. I'm considering Twist, L' Atelier by Joel Robuchon, and am open to other ideas. I get in early enough on Sunday to hit somewhere for brunch. I could do a nice buffet too. Thoughts?
I liked Trist and Guy Savoy (our favorite high end in LV) better than JR. I have very little Bruce experience in LV.
Twist was my favorite, but sadly, they closed when the Mandarin Oriental changed ownership. I like JR a lot, but imho there are other places to have a great meal for far less money. I’ve been to e twice. To me, it was more of a novelty dining experience. The food was beautifully presented, although not a lot of it. The e experience depends a lot upon whom your fellow diners may be. The first time I went, there were several restaurant owner chefs dining there and that made for a fun, interesting experience. The second time consisted of a more sedate group, so it was an entirely different experience. I’ve also eaten at Guy Savoy, which you might enjoy, although it didn’t blow me away.
If you want to stay on strip, I’d suggest Picasso as an option. While we were disappointed once there, it had nothing to do with the food. I’ve been back there several times and have had nothing but a great experience, in both service and food. I’ve also had some great meals at Le Cirque, but I have not been there since the most recent chef has taken the helm.
I’ve now had two tasting menu dinners at recently opened Partage, , both of which were excellent, and at a very reasonable price point. While you won’t get all the bells and whistles of a bread and dessert cart and a baked good to take home with you, what you will get is a creative, beautifully plated, delicious tasting menu. While off strip, they are a very short uber ride away.
