Las Palmeras: Dominican in East Somerville

I got a licuado de banana at Las Palmeras the other day, a mixture of ice, banana and sweetened condensed milk. Mmmmmmmm, nice and cold and creamy, got a glassful plus the extra from the blender for 2.50. This licuado was different than some of the Salvadoran places on the same street where they use regular milk in their licuados. They have a full menu of soups, salads, main dishes and snack items, plus Cuban Sandwiches and other hot pressed sandwiches. The juices listed on the menu include banana, papaya, passion fruit and guanabana. The place has a few tables, you order at a counter though. It just opened a few weeks ago, i have to go back to try the food, it's worth a try for a meal or just a snack,
