Las Cazuelas

Aaron D | Sep 5, 200211:24 PM

Not to be confused with La Cazuela. I've been eyeing this place, on Lawrence and Elston, for some time. I've sort of been waiting to see if it surface's on the board, but I have yet to see it. It seems like an odd place for an upscale Mexican (or "continental Mexican", as I believe it calls itself), and it's certainly off the radar screen of the city's fined Mexican dining joints. The recent talk of Ixcapazulco has reignited my interest, I suppose.

Has anyone tried this place? The menu (linked below) is written quite plainly, but surely the food must be more interesting. And while Googling, I found an interesting, random review from an apparently well-known cabaret singer named Spider Saloff that made me more curious if this place was chow-worthy. Check it out, and report back.
