Hi everyone, I am curious if there is such a thing as the definitive, comprehensive encyclopedia on Chinese cuisine, sort of in the same vein as Larousse is to French cooking. Collection of long articles on the lore of regions, famous eateries, and individual food items, interspersed with recipes and pictures.
I grew up in Taiwan and can read traditional Chinese just fine, so a Chinese title suggestion would be as welcome (more, really) as English. Personally, I've just never heard of such a thing. Strange thing is that it does seem like the sort of book which if it exists should be of interest to a lot of foodies...yet I've never heard of something like this. Please share some thoughts on this, thanks.
