I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, having discovered Auntie Em's nearby and loving every breakfast there.
The room is great, and it looks like they are ready to serve a great Sunday brunch (the only day they do it) with good home cooked Southern style.
The experience fell a bit short. The menu is very limited, offering only five or six items and the only option is to pick three for brunch. For two of us we each had: veggie sausage, and biscuits and gravy, my wife had savory grits, and I had eggs over easy.
Big disappointment. The biscuits may have been made in house, but they were frozen and both of ours had cold or frozen centers. The grits were plain unsalted grits which were topped with a bit of melted cheddar. The veggie patty was pretty good and the eggs were fine. Once our food and my coffee arrived, we never could make contact with a waiter, and there was no coffee refill.
The bill for two people pre-tip with 1 cup of coffee and a juice: $41. For those prices, in Eagle Rock, and with small portions (although it doesn't sound it) It should be great, but ended up being mostly bad.
I still may try it for dinner one night, but I'll stick to much better places for breakfast.
