My husband and I just returned from two weeks on the Maine coast and a week in Cape Cod where we consumed 21 lobsters between us. Believe it or not, we came back still wanting more. We found a place back home here in Brooklyn that sells jumbo lobsters, 5 lbs. and up, for $5.99 a pound...a good deal even by Maine standards. We've never steamed anything larger than three pounds. When we phoned this store, they said that all they have this week are seven to eight pounders. Zowie! Now, I figure this is a great place to get advice on this matter. Has anyone steamed lobsters this large? I've heard that they're just as good as smaller ones if cooked properly, but am skeptical. Any opinions/advice? Thanks!
