I use my favorite Zojirushi 3 cup wonder to eat rice every night. But my girlfriend and I are hosting a small army (11 people) for the holidays.
We are going to try to cook rice for this group. Is it possible to do this with a rice cooker ahead of time?
I imagine cooking small batches (2 cups), then immediately freezing them one at a time with cellophane.
Then on the day of, take them out, microwave each one quickly, then steam in the oven or in a large pot to finish off? Gosh, I really have no idea what I'm talking about.
I am physically/spiritually/mentally not capable of cooking rice in a pot, by the way. It's just way too much finesse for the type of rice, when it was harvested, etc - so that's definitely OUT for this holiday.
