A large group in Charleston?

oya | Mar 17, 2008 07:09 PM

In early November, I'll be traveling with a group of college students & faculty to Charleston and would appreciate recommendations for reasonably priced places that can accommodate a party of about 20 (we don't need to sit together). We'll be staying 3 days/2 nights. Suggestions for seafood & Southern/lowcountry would be particularly welcome. Although we are coming from NYC, my Mom is an amazing cook from North Carolina and I will know the real deal : ). We haven't picked the group yet, but its a good bet that there will be a couple of vegetarians in the crew, so it would help if the places have a couple of no-meat options.

I know there are several open threads on Charleston right now, but it's hard to tell which places can accommodate larger parties. I'm going with a colleague in mid-April to work on logistics, so we are hoping to try a couple of suggestions from the other threads as well.

Is the Mustard Seed a place that can accommodate a large group for lunch on the weekends? We'll be on a schedule, so it would help if the service is quick.
