LaPol D'Or

Joan2003 | Oct 20, 200304:19 PM

You are probably referring to La Pol D'Or, which was in a little strip mall in Arlington Heights. We enjoyed many wonderful meals there during the 70's and 80's. Service was very efficient - Gunther ran a very tight ship. He sold the restaurant in the mid eighties after a tragic death in his family, and moved to Florida. I think the new owner skimped on ingredients because although the nenu was the same the flavor was not. We hated to see it go - not enough charming reasonably priced places out there. The place closed in 1990.
