Thanks for all those that recommended this place. The pork/chive dumplings (fried) at 4/$1.00 were excellent. The tupperware tubs of hot chilli oil and cracked peppers on the tables provided the needed heat. The rest of the food there looked great, from what I could see of other diners eating there. I bought 100 frozen ones to go and spent Superbowl Sunday eating nothing but dumplings. :)
I was also quite pleased at finding the New York Market, a large Asian market right there off the Elmhurst R/V subway stop and around the corner from Lao Bei Fang. The whole neighborhood looks like Flushing lite. Is it growing? I hope so.
It seems I can ride the R train home from work, get off at any stop and find something glorious to eat.
