I've decided to spend a half-dozen days in Languedoc this france visit. I've been doing my homework, but reviews are mixed-- the next provence or sleepy backwater?
mostly I'd love insights on where to eat and what to see. Hotel advice is nice, but less necessary as I'm very happy with my guide de chambre de hotes.
I like good food. I don't want to pay a fortune, but would do it for any magical experience. I'm pretty used to all the tiny san francisco meals where each chef is trying hard to be the next star, and there are a dozen places to have a 20-40 dollar meal that fills your heart with love for your fellow man. My dream is always a cozy place in which there is a good menu, and I can order and then be taken through a orchestrated dinner finished with a big beautiful cheese cart.
So tell me, where shall I eat?
