This board is awesome. I took six out-of-town clients to L'Angolo last night, and they were all charmed. They loved the exposure to a "real" Philly neighborhood, the warm feeling of the restaurant, and the outstanding food. One of my guests is married to an Italian and said she rarely goes to Italian restaurants because the food is so ordinary, but that this was the real deal. Of particular note -- the antipasto mixto (all veggie and wonderful -- included a piece of onion tart, lots of different mushrooms, a slice of perfectly-grilled eggplant and a few paper-thin ribbons of roast zucchini, and a piece of fritatta), the mixed seafood grill special, the veal chop special (rolled around wild mushrooms -- four rolls to a plate). One poster on this board complained about small portions. I didn't see small. I thought the sizes were generous, the prices were amazingly low given the quality of the food. Even the rice pudding for dessert was terrific.
