Lampreia--can't live up to expectations

I was so very excited to eat at Lampreia---heard and read raves all around. And then the punked-out truffles arrived. Absolutely flavor- and aroma-less--tasting just like paper. Seriously.
Dish after dish was disappointing, from a quail baked in clay (when they broke the clay open, it got into the quail and kept making me feel like I'd lost a filling) to overcooked halibut.
Has anyone else had such a dreadful experience? FYI--the chef was there--he said goodbye to us.
