went to this much-needed new mid-range ($10-$20 entree) restaurant in the north end of greenpoint (manhattan av between eagle and dupont), and just wanted to spread the word that it's good. pretty space--in the spare wood-oriented style that seems to dominate many of the neighborhood's institutions--if a bit cold (i assume that problem will be fixed soon). food options mostly new american fare. highlights of the meal were the appetizer of bacon-wrapped prunes and the potatoes au gratin that came with a very tasty flank steak in wine and pepper. coriander encrusted salmon was pretty good too. byob, veg specials every night. in my opinion, first greenpoint restaurant truly competitive with williamsburg's or hunters point's better options...definitely worth a walk or a short trip on the g.
