My family and I (18 in number) are visiting Italy in May 2014 and staying at a rental (Villa Camilla) on the west shore of Lake Como between Dongo and Managgio for a week. We will have access to a kitchen so some meals we will cook ourselves but are looking forward to some dining out. We have access to water transportation but have never been to the Lake Como area and unsure how feasible it is to go from one side of lake to other for meals. Are there markets we can shop for food to prepare near San Siro? Any cafes in San Siro?
Given the size of our group, we may need to take turns eating at smaller trattorias but love pasta so would miss not experiencing some delicious meals. We are from San Francisco, California and looking forward to the trip as a family reunion.
Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
