The Lady and Sons- a Thanksgiving Disappointment

I'd say like every other visitor to Savannah, the most well known restauranteur is Paula Deen. The only way to eat there is to stand in a long line, that cues up early in the morning. The only time they will take reservations is for major holidays- like Thanksgiving.

We started inquiring about a reservation for our family of 4 starting in June. Their annoying auto prompt voicemail will never, ever put you in touch with a live person. I tried waiting on hold one night for 20 minutes to see if I could get through. We went to their website and sent an email, which no one responded to- not once, not twice, more than that. We even tried snail mail and sent a letter via the USPS and still no response. Are you kidding me-- I even work for Chow and couldn't get the decency of a return message.

We ended up going to Bubba's Oyster House (her other restaurant). The turkey was dry, the food was so-so and as expected on Thanksgiving, it was a huge rip off.

For my money for a holiday, special occassion or for a good meal=- Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House. Most delicious Southern Food- fresh and with over 20 plates on the table, amazing variety!

Sorry Paula Deen, you were a real disappointment!!!
