Laduree in Georgetown

Steve | Dec 25, 201710:53 AM     13

I must have walked the 3000 block of M St about six times in the last month before finally noticing that Laduree is open on the south side. I guess I was walking the north side because of construction.

The inside is French candy shop fantasy tea salon, like it is in Paris. The displays of highly decorated buche and boîte macarons are as pretty as a fairy tale. You can eat your treasure there, or get them to go like I did. At $2.80 per, I got two regular macarons, one lime and one chestnut.

They are textural masterpieces. As for flavor, they are muted. I remember liking quite a few flavors more at Olivia Macaron. Of course, I can go back to try more flavors, and maybe next time I will stop in both for a direct comparison.
