La Verdad--3 out of 4 is pretty damn good

tatamagouche | Apr 30, 200704:26 PM     19

First of all, loved the guac and chips. Great, fresh, thick chips sprinkled with the same cojita cheese that's on the grilled corn, and as for the guac--I know some have mentioned they'd prefer it with a chile bite, but for me very simple avo and citrus mash is a refreshing treat.
Tried 3 tacos: pollo pibil, pastor traditionale and shrimp in governor sauce. Only the former disappointed--chicken was dry. But the other 2 had more flavor than I knew what to do with; they were dripping all over the place.
They are small but they're piled pretty high.
DC had the chile relleno-stuffed torta. It was HUGE, at least 1.5 times the size of Lupita's--which I adore--and looked remarkable. Gotta do that next, and a margarita.

Place was nice and quiet, too.
