Have been trying to get to this place on Geary/Larkin because of chowhounds and SF magazine raves. So, on Friday around 4pm was hungry and in the neighborhood and stopped in for a meal.
With a friend, we ordered feta borek (4 cigar shaped filo pastries), a flat bread with minced lamb in a very spicy tomato sauce, and a lamb chop platter which came with 5 little grilled marinated chops, lovely pilaf and fresh green vegie salad with a grilled green pepper on top.
We were both in heaven. The food was very good, the workers were attentive and hospitable, and the atmosphere was casual, easy, and comfortable. We only spent $30.
My friend took a rice pudding home for dessert and I haven't heard back if it was good, but it looked terrific.
They had a lamb shank special for $8, that only appeared on the board after we had ordered, but it looks like a must try. So,when I go back for my second visit, what else do you recommend?
