La Tasca (new tapas place on 7th Street, NW)

Had lunch at this new place today (722 - 7th Street, across from the big new building going up over the Gallery Place Metro stop). It's only been open since Saturday. Food was pretty good; not up to Jaleo, but perfectly acceptable. Prices were comparable to Jaleo, as well (clustered in the $5 - $6 range per dish). Service was courteous but dreadfully slow.

I noticed that that there is a new Potbelly sandwich shop next door, and that next door to Potbelly is a branch of Marvelous Market. Walking back down 7th, I saw that a branch of NYC's Rosa Mexicano is going into one of the buildings that is being renovated on the south side of the MCI Center. (I assume this is a branch of the NYC operation, which generally gets unfavorble reviews on the Manhattan Chowhound board.)
