La Saj, Troy finally had soft opening [DTW]

VTB | Oct 2, 201508:07 PM     6

Very tickled. La Saj (home base near Lakeside Mall) is finally also open at Crooks near 15&1/2 (2149 Crooks Rd, Troy). Not a low cost pig-out Iraqi grill (wish I had those back in my college days!), but a wanna be classy, Lebanese dine in and takeout place which adds a little extra caring touch to most of the dishes it serves.

Fresher tabbouli, tenderer lamb kabob pieces, chicken that tastes like chicken instead of a cheap marinade disguise, fried kibbe worthy of a french pastry chef's touch, sauced rice that is a legitimate side rather than a space filler.

Sure, not everything sets itself apart, but a majority of their items hit the mark--- each of those only outdone by Dearborn's hottest places' featured offerings. Boy, if nearby La Marsa and La Saj get in a coupon war, my poor family is going to be receiving middle eastern takeout every eve for weeks.
