Ever since the new seafood restaurant, La Pescheria, opened in Eatily I've been there about 6 times now. La Pescheria replaced the previous seafood place that was a partnership with Barbara Lynch. I have to say that I'm very impressed with the new replacement. The menu is short and simple. Several apps followed by several pastas and several entrees. They also offer an extremely good version of Tiramisu for dessert. Its made with Mascarpone cheese and it is delicious. My two favorite apps are the Grilled Calamari served with a cashew nut sauce. Not your standard calamari offering but very delicious. My other favorite is the Grilled Octopus. Perfectly cooked, very tender and drizzled with olive oil and orange zest. Excellent!!
I am in love with the Spaghetto (thick spaghetti) Pescatore. Its a very intense, briny tomato based sauce with pieces of fish, calamari and scallops. The deep seafood flavors in the sauce are outstanding. I've also tried the Skate Wing, the Grilled Mackerel and the Sunday Stew. The Skate Wing and the Mackerel were my favorites.
All seating is at the counter which has about 15 to 20 seats. They also have a nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle as well as beers and a limited number of cocktails. Prices are any two courses for around $30.00 and additional course will add another $15 to $20 depending on what you choose. The Tiramisu is about $8.00. Service is casual but very professional and friendly. My only criticism is that they do not serve any type of coffee.
