Went to a girls night dinner in Media last night and had a superb dinner. Now I don't know authentic Thai from authentic Thai, but for freshness and spice and deliciousness, we all really loved La Na. I started with the lemongrass soup with shrimp and mushrooms and lime - and it was great - right amount of spice (for me!) and even a touch sweeter than the other versions i have tried (hands down, though to Erawan in center city for the lemongrass seafood soup...). Then ahd a sort of pork dumpling and it was excelent - filled with water chestnuts and black mushrooms. A friend had the fried calamari - which was slightly overdone, however, the accompanying sauce was a nice chili lime sauce. Another had the shrimp and crab tulip dumplings - stellar. For my entree I had my old standby at all thai places - seafood with basil sauce. The shrimp were a little over done, the calamari jsut right and the scallops good too- the spicy basil sauce was just the right temperature, got a little of my sweat on.
Service was fantastic.
Media is really looking better and better each time i go there - a lot of offerings in a cute little town. If I had to do it all over again (that is , if I had to live in the burbs again) I'd live there (instead of Havertown).
