Having completely forgotten about restaurant week last night we walked into a very crowded La Morra. Usually, it is no problem to get a table without a reservation during the week. Thankfully, we were able to grab 2 seats at the bar and enjoyed a great RW menu. La Morra is featuring a 4 course menu for $33. The menu had 4-5 of choices for each section (apps, pasta, entree, dessert) of the menu and we enjoyed the sardines, salad with blood oranges and grilled shrimp, baked penne with mushrooms and the scallops with roasted beets, root veg. and sunchokes. Everything was delicious especially the scallops. Service was fantastic at the bar and we even received complementary glasses of a wonderful dessert wine as an "apology" for having to dine at the bar. We were so full from the 3 courses that we couldn't manage dessert so the bartender put some chocolate cake in a box for us to take home. All in all a terrific meal and a great value.
