La Mariscada - Another drive-by solved

I pass by this place all the time, it's been on my list of "have-to-try-one-day" places. They advertise themselves as Salvadorean, fish/seafood. I finally got there yesterday.

FYI, the menu is in Spanish, and the waitress doesn't speak English. There are daily specials posted on the wall. Friday's was mojarra frita, fried whole fish. I didn't order fish, but had a tamale and pupusas. The tamale was very wet, puddinglike, I didn't like the flavor of the pork filling. Too bland. The pupusas were amazing, not too chewy, not too crispy, but cooked perfectly and very tasty.

They had another special, some sort of fried tamale for $3.95, which half the people in the room were eating. The beef/vegetable soup looks good, and they have a big selection of shrimp, fish, and fish soups. It is definitely worth going back to try.
