Olvera Street is a weird mix of fake tourist trap and genuine community center. So La Luz Del Dia could be anything. The old Spanish style interior is interesting. But qualms begin as you get in line. It's a steam-table place. The menu is very short, and nothing is made to order but the tortillas. I got the chicken in green sauce with rice, beans, and tortillas, and some pork tamales and orange soda. Everything was ordinary. The chicken was okay. The rice was fluffy and flavorless, and the beans were gloppy and flavorless. The tortillas were okay. The hot sauce was ordinary. The tamales were dry but the pork inside was mildly flavorful. It was really nothing special at all unfortunately.
