Visited La Galette in Marylebone today. The deal here is galettes, crepes and cider. I started with a pichet of Breton Cider and a plate of olives, cornichons and caper berries. For my main I had the bacon, egg, sausage and mushroom i.e. breakfast. What arrived was a partially opened out galette covered with a perfectly fried egg, mushrooms, slices of herbed sausage and a slice of bacon. The star of the dish was the bacon, some of the tastiest Ive ever had. Still feeling hungry I had a crepe with lemon and sugar which was good. Deciding to put off the shopping for a bit longer I had a good espresso and a calvados. Service was very prompt.
Overall, pretty good, although not revelatory. Its more of an upmarket cafe than a restaurant but London could definitely do with more of the same.
