MMMMMM! Always in search of good steak, I followed a group of friends to this place in the neighborhood. It's an Argentinian steakhouse right across the street from the Elmhurst Hospital and wow do they have great steaks! On the recommendation of the waiter, I had shell steak, cooked medium, and it was actually the best shell steak I've ever had. Very tender and juicy and nicely topped with a garlicky sauce. My friends had the skirt steak, which is what they always get when they come here--unfortunately I didn't try any so I can't give an opinion on that. They swear it's the best steak to get at this place. With whatever steak you get, the portions will be huge. Everyone brought home leftovers.

The sides were alright. You have the option of fries or mashed potatoes with your dish. Oh, the appetizer to get here is the avocado and shrimp salad. Yummmy! Skip the crepe desserts unless you really like your rum. They put so much in the crepe that even after they flambe it, you can taste the rum in each bite.

I had thought La Portena had the best steak in the neighborhood but after having eaten here, this place beats it hands down!
