La Fogata on Van Nuys - memories maintained

Zoe | Jun 29, 200210:31 PM     2

We happened upon this restaurant many years ago (its just celebrating its 20th) because Falling Off the Freeway, SO and I needed to find susenance, a trough, food and something delicious, not necessarily in that order. The name of the game for me is their taco salad: A home made taco shell, shredded beef (not ground beef) lettuce, beans, salad, guacamole, sour cream but in the "right" proportions. Well it still tastes just right with plenty of home made salsas and blahing music to pep the place up. But times have changed - it used to be $3.95 and it went up a $1 and with a glass of Jamaica (hibiscus) lunch for 2 was ten bucks. Oh happy days.
