La Estacion - Fajardo - Puerto Rico

We had a tremendously good meal at La Estacion two nights ago.

The food was fantastic. We had the grilled whole fish of the day, BBQ Ribs, Chicken Pinchos, Pork Pinchos, Cesar Salad, Potato Salad, Green Papaya Salad and Tostones. The ribs were smoked over mango wood. The portion was 4 huge ribs. It was more than enough. The potatoe salad was delicious. The Cesar Salad had serrano ham instead of anchoy. A nice change-up. The Chicken Pinchos were tender and juicy. The fish was cooked just right, not dried out.

The hostess and servers and bar tender were all professional and friendly and did a great job. The setting is the best kind of rustic. We drank and ate under the stars. It was all in all the best restaurant dining I've experienced in three trips to Puerto Rico.

With 3 beers, before tip it came to $96. They operate on a cash-only, basis and they accept reservations.

It's in Fajardo (or near it anyhow) just across the road (and down the way maybe 100-200 meters)from the entrance to the El Conquistador resort.

Here's a link to their web page: http://www.laestacionpr.com/home.shtml
