Im not going to bore you with the story. Heres the chow.
The place is kind of run-down. They dont really keep the dining room spic and span. It seems clean enough, but its kind of like eating on your friends back porch.
I ordered one chicken taco.
I expected old crappy meat with a plastic cup of gasoline salsa and tortillas that fell apart just by looking at them.
What I got was two hot fresh tortillas covered with enough meat for two tacos. And the meat wasnt the typical El Pollo Loco meat. It was like a stew. It was tender, and obviously simmered a long time with onions and bell peppers. They also brought out a small cup of salsa and another cup of white stuff that I assume was sour cream.
I guess they plan for you to eat the taco with both tortillas, but let me tell you, theres no way you can pick up that load of meat and keep it airborne while you bite on it.
So I scraped off half the meat and saved it for the second tortilla. The top tortilla was kind of breaking apart, but ultimately I prevailed and had a one-tortilla taco. Then I put the rest of the meat into the second tortilla, and it actually held up better than the first one.
This was a great meal, and for a couple bucks, I cant think of another place in town where I can have a good meal for such a reasonable price.
