La Dragonne - Swiss Hot Beer

The Dive | Mar 9, 2010 09:30 AM

Tried Brasserie des Franches-Montagnes' La Dragonne for the first the other night (after having the bottle for well over a year ... never seemed to be a time to drink hot beer). This is a spiced winter ale that you need to warm up in the microwave before drinking.

This is a flat beer with lots of winter spice, orange, etc. It was interesting, not very beer-like. More like a warm cider or punch. I think the heat made it taste stronger than it was (it's 7%). Not sure I would have it again unless I was very cold. Or maybe for the holidays.
