After reading about it here on CH, we tried it tonight. Place was a little less than half full at 7PM. Sat down and was served EXCELLENT warm bread in a very cute pan. Waiter told us the specials and off we went.
Fried calamari- legs and all was above average- we like ours a bit crisper, but this version was very good.
One main course was salmon which was cooked perfectly. my main course of veal saltimboca was not on the menu, but easily made by the chef,
A couple of things. As I mentioned. Bread was delicious! Also, house cured olives we excellent as well.
The only issues we had were with the timing of the food. The calamari came out quickly after we ordered, and then about three quarters of our way through the course, the waiter tried to take the plate even though we still eating. When we told him we weren't finished, he must have sent the bus boy over, he took the plate WHILE we were still eating.... Needless to say, the mains came out immediately afterward.
So, I think the kitchen or the wait staff needs to get their timing down better- to give their patrons a more "dining" instead of "diner" experience. Otherwise, food was really good and we'd come back.
One last note. Their web site still show that they are a catering service. When I inquired, their web designer is ill, so it hasn't been updated. Rest assured, this is a full service, BYOB restaurant.
And, for once, it is better (and fairer priced) than most! TRY IT!!
