Ladies & Gents,
Congrats on a great chowhound community -I have a short visit in Boston (from L.A. area). By Chowhound reccomendation, I visited Antico Forno last night - I must say that it was wonderful.
Small dining area - warm colors, mildly friendly staff, few guests but not very busy.
To start, we were given some excellent rosemary-garlic(?) bread with a very simple herb-olive-oil sauce.
We ordered the Caprese to share - unbelieavable fresh & light mozarella, stacked in alternating layers with large tomato slices. Garnished with olive oil and some cherry tomatoes.
I passed on the Linguini al frutti di mare (which sounded great), and instead had the special: rissoto with crab, scallops, small bits of red peppers, and mascaropone (sp?) cheese. Ubelievable! Great for a freezing cold winter evening.
Per a Chowhound recommendation, my wife ordered the gnochi which was likewise excellent and soothing.
To finish, we ordered the Tiramisu which was not very exciting, and I had a Cappucino which was excellent.
