Two great finds of the past week that I had to share. Made multiple trips to La Chilendrina on Central Ave. in Chelsea just to make sure it was as good as I thought the first time. Chelsea is packed with options from Latin America and pupusas are everywhere. This place makes the best by far. Also recomend the baleadas; beans, eggs and a soft goat cheese wrapped in a delicious thick and chewy, fresh tortilla. Much more like chapati than any tortilla I've ever had. Shared a Plato Montenero; as the name suggests, a huge plate with grilled steak, a hunk of deep fried bacon, an egg, salsa, rice and beans and sweet fried plantains. All for under $10.
On Saturday, had pizza rosa from Cucchiello'o bakery on Bennington in Eastie. Amazing! I've only had this treasure in Rome where the cold pizza for breakfast thing is cool. This stuff is slathered in succulent grease and beautiful with steaming espresso.
