Just wanted to add a note that La Boulange on Union Street has been open for several weeks as a new outpost of Bay Bread, www.baybread.com. It offers the usual baked goods, plus some cafe type sandwiches and salads and has indoor and outdoor seating I was a bit distressed to see the macaroons in the cold box.
It's next door to Joji's House of Teriyaki.
