It's official:
"The first location to return will be Rigo’s flagship bakery on Pine Street in Pacific Heights, which is set to open next Thursday, October 1st at 7 a.m. From there, Rigo hopes to open one location per week. No exact details yet on the rest of the opening schedule."

I have to wonder what kind of terms were arranged with Starbucks to allow this to happen. Perhaps a commitment to change the menu items that now overlap?
Great to hear this news and it makes me happy to see La Boulange return. I can't wait to line up for my order of coffee and an almond croissant.
I'm having a serious talk with myself about getting up early and standing at the front door of the Pine Street location to be there for the 7:00 am opening.
I hope you weren't there at 7 am... I went to check today around 3 pm. One door was open with empty cases. Didn't get the chance to ask about opening date since they were in the middle of what looked like a staff meeting.
Sign outside still says "opening next week" with no updated date. I'll try to pass by and check each day (but not at 7 am, sorry!).
I wonder if they'll re-start the bakers dinners. It was fun. Line up on Friday evening, and the first 20 people got in. Sit at communal tables, fresh bread, same menu for all, freshly made dessert. BYOB. $20/person.
Stopped by around 9am today and the Pine Street location was abuzz. The front area still appeared to be under construction, but the pastry cases and bread baskets were well-stocked with familiar favorites and other surprises. The bakery was busy in the back and the two tables were still back in the seating areas.
The chocolate and chocolate hazelnut croissants are super long now--they must have grown by at least 50%. There seemed to be more chocolate inside as well.
No macarons that I saw but they now carry a selection of Choux SF's choux. I grabbed a salted caramel and strawberry.
Coffee was not self-serve and someone had to fetch it from the back causing some bottle-necking. Also they have a new point of sale system that involves both iPads and separate card swiping machines. The staff was getting used to the new system. The check out area eats up about half of what was originally the second cold case. Some cute individually wrapped French candy filled jars at the cashier stations.
