Grabbed the 4 course LApertivo $20 menu in La Botte's expanded bar area this evening. Wow!
La Botte has always had creative, good food in small portions with great presentation at high prices with even pricier wines. They were awarded a Michelin Star in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
In an effort to appeal to another dining demographic, they have been having a variety of tasting menus 9 courses for $90. a limited edition, expired AFM 8.5 course menu for $48. We had the Happy Hour 5 to 8 pm 4 course $20 menu which included a glass of wine! Food was great. Presentation 5 star.
The bar area has no white table cloths like the regular restaurant. The tables are custom made from old Italian wine barrels.
Course 1: A single oyster.
Course 2: Spaghetti with Crabmeat.
Course 3: Oxtail in pureed squash.
Course 4: Homemade Chocolate Gelatto.
Wine: choice of prosecco, white or red wine. We took the red which was a nice Italian bordeaux style red blend of cabernet, merlot and carmenere.
Again, small portions, great presentation with great execution. A bargain from a Michelin Star Restaurant!
