When in the patio dining courtyard you witness the chef/owner cutting fresh herbs to use on the food she is preparing (menu evolves daily to reflect what was caught that day)and she comes out to check on her customers it becomes evident that this place, La Bodega, is one to recommend to chowhounds going to Amelia Island. My husband and I shared the fish, grilled cobia, which had a orange ginger basil reduction sauce to accompany the collard greens, grits and biscuit. Wonderful! We also shared a green tomato/onion/dill bruschetta plus a sensational fruit shortcake desert.
I have benefited from the chowhound recommendations in other cities and thought this was a restaurant that others would appreciate knowing about if visiting Amelia Island.
