Does this continual downpour make you want soup, or what?
We finally found Kyushu Ramen, located on Sherman Way just a tad west of Sepulveda, north side, in a little plaza with a Starbucks street-side. I tried the mabo ramen for $6.75, ramen noodles in a spicy red broth with large tofu cubes and ground pork...it was ok. Tofu was good, noodles were tasty, broth was not the best. Husband tends not to order noodles in soup, like he doesn't get pho at Pho So 1, and he doesn't get ramen at ramen shops. He got a dish of crispy fried thin noodles swimming in a light brown gravy with pork, shrimp, squid, veggies for $7.45, it was very much like the gloppy old fashioned "pan fried chow mein" that he likes, so he was happy.
Restaurant has a largeish menu, including various entrees such as tonkatsu, pork cutlet curry, deep fried chicken, tempura, etc. For you natto lovers, there's natto with chopped green onion, dried bonito and soy sauce, and natto over tofu.
Takeout menu indicates hours as 11:30am to 1:00am, 7 days per week. I think it would work well for takeout, especially for ramen, as it would remain steaming hot, and the place seems to do a decent takeout business.
